Wescan Announces Graduation to Tier 1 of the TSX Venture Exchange

Kenneth E. MacNeill, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Wescan Goldfields Inc., ("Wescan" or “the Company”), is pleased to announce that Wescan's application to the TSX Venture Exchange (the "Exchange") for graduation to Tier 1 has been accepted by the Exchange. Effective May 19, 2006, Wescan's Company Tier classification on the Exchange will change from Tier 2 to Tier 1.

Wescan is a Canadian-based corporation engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of mineral properties. Shares of the Company trade on the TSX Venture Exchange under the trading symbol “WGF”.
